beautiful place

Look at how the moon sits
It sits as we sit, embraced
By the stars, its blanket
The horizon, its bed

prose

I stare into the mirror, but you've already left. Your make-up lingers on my cheek, a badge of your love, my devotion. Outside the heavens explode in a one-instrument harmony; the percussion of raindrops echoing down this lonely street. The crack and roll of the thunder, the encore to the beautiful symphony of the night.

t-bone walker blues

this tuesday reeks of sadness
the shadows sing the song of pain
deep and as black as the sea

through the night i see your eyes
piercing sapphires in the dark
and they're crying with the shadows
shedding uncertain tears in the moonlight
the moon is in your eyes, i call
but i cry for what we lost together
the journey of a thousand heart beats
the distance of a million fears
recorded in the stars between breaths

silent wednesday rolls around by three
and i'm left awake in bed thinking
