a sad, lonely night

Let me make you happy
Allow me to see inside
So sick of feeling lonely
How quickly your love died
You reached inside my heart
Clutching the love that waits
We're drifting farther apart
Emotion checked at the gates
What happened to the good times
Laughs that we once shared
Attachment stopped on a dime
As if you never really cared

actually probably not that good at all

And just when you think things are going great
You get too comfortable, slapped back by fate.
Struck by the hard truth as reality hits
The wake-up call to the dreamer, lover he dearly missed.
A billowing cloud of doubt creates a haze as it creeps in
Washing over personality, causing systematic destruction.
Such occurances are a rarity, guidance called on from above
Caused by that disruptive human emotion, you're truly love.
